Attended Fox4's Five Man Tournament

As the 2008 Paintball season gets underway, New Hampshire's Knightmare Saints traveled to Upton Massachusetts for the first Fox 4 five man series event. http://www.fox4paintball.com

In the captains meeting, we heard a great statement from the owner, Dave, that really stuck. While explaining the reasoning for some of his field rules he said “Remember guys, you are training the next generation of paintballers every time you play. These young people come in here and learn to play paintball by watching the speedballers who are up here center court.” This could not be more true!

There were two new young teams that had rosters of 10 – 13 year olds and most of them had never even played speedball before. One team that caught the Saints attention early was a group of kids that called themselves Demonz. It was great to hear a crowd full of competitive teams as they gave a standing ovation when the Demonz played with heart, and dominated two games in a row. Our hats are off to Demonz and we hope to see them at the next event.

The tournament was filled with excitement for many, defeat and injuries for others. The day started off a bit rocky for one team, as they lost a player in the early morning to a broken ankle. Fortunately they were able to substitue a fifth man and finish out their schedule. You would not believe the talent that all the teams at Fox 4 displayed. The crowd was astonished when Point Blank's last player on the field took on four NTL challengers and one by one sent them to the dead box.

Congratulations to 1st place team Deception, ( 2nd )Sneaky Peet's Factory, (3rd) Nemesis, and (4th) Point Blank for being the top teams of the day.

We believe that the First event at Fox 4 was a great success. The staff was very helpful and the two teams that reffed, Armageddon and 187 Crew, did an excellent job and should be commended.

We finished the day with a record of 4 wins and 2 losses, barely missing the playoffs by 8 points. Nothing to be ashamed of at all! Our team’s highlight of the day was that we met a lot of great people that play paintball for all the same reasons as we do, which is to positively promote the sport of paintball.

We would like to thank our sponsors for making this tournament happen for us: Hillsboro Paintball Park and Pro Shop, Paintball News, and Whaleback Mountain. Special thanks to Crossfire Paintball located in Bow New Hampshire and Redhook Ale Brewery. Find more information on our sponsors and our team at KnightmareSaints.com.
